Legal remedies alone can’t restore a tarnished reputation, nor do they fully reverse an injustice when public opinion remains unchanged. We provided strategic advice and representation for a high net worth individual involved in multi-jurisdictional and high profile litigation. Amongst other things, we were asked to ensure the removal of a politically motivated Interpol red notice. We developed a detailed communications strategy in the international media, made legal submissions to Interpol, liaising with local lawyers. We were able to demonstrate that criminal allegations underpinning the Interpol Red Notice had been manipulated by the rivals in the litigation, leading to the successful removal of the Interpol red notice.<\/p>\n

We were approached by the families of a group of individuals who were suddenly detained incommunicado, and without trial. We sent legal submissions to the United Nations Special Procedures Mechanisms and Special Rapporteurs about their case. We engaged NGOs and other relevant organisation to create publicity about their case and raise the issue in the media. We lobbied politicians and consular officials to intervene. The issue was raised to a level of international discussion and significance.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

A UK national had been suddenly and aggressively detained abroad with false espionage allegations made against him. After several months, efforts through diplomats failed to secure his freedom. We then mounted a large-scale international media campaign, with the support of his family and other former detainees, in order to put pressure on both the British Government to do more to secure his release, as well as increase pressure on the country that had detained him. After two months of intense campaigning, the individual was freed and returned to the UK.<\/p>\n

A negative PR campaign had been mounted against our client, a political actor, alleging financial and sexual impropriety to undermine him. This resulted in restrictions being imposed on him by a hostile government, stopping him from travelling and carrying out his business. We gathered international political support and managed a communications strategy to undermine the false allegations. We launched defamation proceedings against false articles. As result, our client was allowed to travel and continue his business and the negative publicity was neutralised.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
