Ben Keith and Rhys Davies instructed to represent a victim of torture at the hands of Ugandan authorities

Ben Keith and Rhys Davies have been instructed to represent Dr Acléo Kalinga, a Rwandan refugee who was kidnapped, detained and tortured in Uganda between 2005 - 2009 and subsequently experienced persecution for seeking redress. Ben and Rhys will lead on bringing a Complaint to the African Commission on Human and People’s Rights, calling on the international community to denounce a series of gross human rights violations against Dr Kalinga by Ugandan authorities. The pending Complaint was first submitted on behalf of Dr Kalinga by REDRESS and other human rights organisations in 2009.
