In 2012, Agnes Wanjiru, a 21-year-old Kenyan woman, was murdered near a British military base in Kenya. Months later, her body was found in a septic tank. In 2018, an inquest concluded that Agnes had been killed by a British soldier stationed in Kenya — a man who left the country shortly after. Now, 13 years later, the Kenyan authorities have issued an arrest warrant.

Please join us in London as Agnes’ niece, Esther Muchiri, continues her family’s ongoing fight for justice and calls for the soldier’s extradition to Kenya.

The event will be chaired by Brendan O’Hara MP (SNP) – Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on International Law, Justice and Accountability. He will be joined by:

  • Esther Muchiri – Niece of Agnes Wanjiru, Kenya
  • Tessa Gregory – Lawyer for the Wanjiru family, Leigh Day
  • Ben Keith – Barrister, 5 St Andrew’s Hill and International Human Rights Advisors; specialist in international law and extradition
